About this product
ABB's MA direct-on-line (DOL) starters and SDA fully automatic star-delta starters are pre-wired, enclosure-mounted motor starter assemblies combining a contactor, thermal overload relay and protective device, sized to the motor's HP/kW rating at 415V 50Hz. DOL starters connect the motor directly across the line, while star-delta starters reduce starting current/torque on larger motors by starting in star configuration and automatically switching to delta once up to speed. Both ranges are ordered with a control coil voltage code appended to the type code.
