Trinity 5P10 and PS class protection current transformers feed overcurrent, earth fault and differential relays rather than meters. 5P10 units guarantee 5% composite error at 10 times rated current; PS (class X) units are specified by knee-point voltage for differential and restricted earth fault protection. For class 5P20 the price is 1.8 times the 5P10 price. PS class prices are for standard knee-point voltage only, with Rs. 200 extra per additional 5 VA of burden. For ratios below 100/5 A or for better accuracy, a higher ratio CT is selected and the primary conductor is passed through the window several times.
